Biography

Angela began her career over 30 years ago gaining experience in general medicine and ITU, moving into community care as a Health Visitor promoting public health. She has lectured in higher and further education, latterly specialising in manipulating brain chemistry with nutrition to undergraduate and postgraduate students at The University of Teesside.

This led to the expansion of The Cactus Clinic, a specialist treatment and research centre for children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and associated conditions. The clinic worked in close collaboration with the Brain Bio Centre in London. This expanded to the USA to work with Dr Paul Cates, a leading Educational Psychologist, where they did nutritional and psychological profiling and clinical treatments for many of his patients.

Angela has worked as a Nutritional Consultant for a leading food intolerance testing company for the last 12 years, where she specialises in the treatment of food intolerances and allergies.

She has lectured extensively, written articles for the popular press and magazines, has spoken on national radio and TV and frequently speaks on BBC Radio Tees.

Angela is a Senior Associate of The Royal Society of Medicine and a graduate of The Institute for Functional Medicine. She runs clinical practices in Richmond, North Yorkshire, Central London and Stockton-on-Tees.

Angela is particularly interested in the relationship between the gut and overall health; recent research has identified that most imbalances and disease have their origins in disruptive gut flora, therefore, following the belief that the symbiosis of the microbiome rules your life - mentally and physically.
